Attribute every figure
Require the agent to return the source id and institution for each important number, and surface it in your UI.
Prefer official sources
When several sources could answer a question, prefer official institutions and note when a value is derived.
Design for graceful failure
Treat upstream availability as best-effort. Cache results, show timestamps when genuine, and never block your product on a single source.
